ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — St. Petersburg police authorities are investigating an early-morning incident where an officer shot and wounded a suspect.
No officers were hurt.
Detectives said they responded to the area of 34th Street South between 21st & 22nd avenues early Friday to calls of a man walking around with a gun and possibly firing it.
When officers tried to approach the suspect they say he aimed his gun at them.
Officers say they were forced to shoot him.
No further information has been released.
