The City of St. Petersburg and Mayor Ken Welch are holding a series of meetings this month about development in the Gas Plant district.

Last week, the mayor announced that the city would reconsider how the area would be reshaped, adding that he hopes for a decision by the end of the year.

Three “Community Conversations” are scheduled.

“These conversations will provide attendees with an opportunity to provide feedback on priorities for redevelopment in this area,” the city said in a news release.

Each session will begin with opening remarks by Welch, before participants break into smaller groups for discussions.

The dates and locations for the meetings are:

  • Tuesday, July 12 – 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. (Center for Health Equity, 2333 34th St S)
  • Tuesday, July 19 – 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. (St. Petersburg College – Gibbs Campus)
  • Thursday, July 28 – 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. (USF St. Pete)
