The City of St. Petersburg is seeking engaged citizens to serve on its Bicycle & Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC), which helps advise St. Pete Mayor Ken Welch and his administration regarding infrastructure improvements, educational programs and events related to walking and bicycling access and safety.

BPAC was formed after the St. Petersburg City Council adopted the CityTrails Plan in 2003 and has actively been involved in discussions that impact the city’s transportation system and the safety of those involved in it, including bikers.

Interested candidates should have a strong desire to improve St. Pete’s transportation conditions and be able to attend monthly meetings. BPAC meetings are held on the third Wednesday of every month at 7:30 a.m. at St. Petersburg City Hall, located at 175 5th St N.

Applications to join BPAC’s board can be submitted online.

Earlier this year, St. Pete scored well-below average on PeopleForBike’s “Best Places to Bike 2022” annual list, ranking No. 303 among the nations 455 “midsize” cities.
