ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Cold night shelters in St. Petersburg will be open Saturday night, the Homeless Leadership Alliance of Pinellas County said on its website.
The National Weather Service forecast reported a low of 40 degrees Fahrenheit for Saturday night with wind gusts as high as 24 mph. Sunday’s weather is predicted to have a high near 69 degrees Fahrenheit with gusts as high as 23 mph.
The following St. Pete shelters will have their doors open from Saturday night to Sunday morning for adults:
- Northwest Presbyterian Church, 6330 54th Ave. N., St. Petersburg, 6 p.m.-6 a.m.
- Salvation Army, 1400 Fourth Street South, 7 p.m.-5:30 a.m.
- Turning Point, 1810 Fifth Avenue North, 6 p.m.-6 a.m.
Shelters will accept guests until the space is full. All sites provide a warm and safe place to sleep, and many sites also serve a meal, according to Pinellas County government.
A wind chill advisory is in effect until 10 a.m. Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.
