ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — A man missing since 2016 was found dead by St. Pete Police.

Authorities discovered remains near Interstate 275 by the Howard Frankland Bridge on Jan. 28 of this year. Upon further analysis, the remains were identified as belonging to Rang Phi Truong.

Truong was first reported missing on Dec. 27, 2016. Deputies say they were told that the 34-year-old man fled from his brother’s car and couldn’t be located. 

According to a release from the St. Petersburg Police Department, Truong was “entered into FCIC/NCIC (Florida Crime Information Center/National Crime Information Center) as a Missing/Endangered Person due to reported intellectual disabilities and other mental health concerns.”

A cause of death has not yet been established.
