At approximately 3:00 pm St. Petersburg Fire Rescue responded to reports of a collision involving a boat at approximately 3 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21, 2022. The collision occurred in the area of 4th Ave N and Sunset Drive, north of the Treasure Island Causeway.
According to the St. Petersburg Fire Rescue, an approximately 15ft flats boat collided into the rocks and seawall at the location. Two individuals were on the boat at the time of the crash.
One person, an adult male, sustained serious traumatic injuries and transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg in critical condition.
The other individual was evaluated by Paramedics and has minor injuries. Florida Fish and Wildlife is investigating the incident
