ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – If spending time outside can boost your mood, then Luci Westphal is walking on sunshine.
“There’s a grounding that you can feel by being out in nature,” said Westphal, and it’s that feeling that inspired her to begin her business, Happier Place.
“It’s all about inspiring people to get happier by getting outdoors and appreciating what we have right outside our doors,” said Westphal.
It just so happens that there is no place better to enjoy the outdoors than right here in St. Petersburg, Florida. It’s why she and her husband moved here after starting the business in Colorado a few years back.
“I just love the amount of culture we have, the amount of sunshine we have. The weather, the birds. I’m really into birds,” said Westphal.
It’s not everywhere that you can spend a beautiful day outside in the middle of February and that’s not lost on Luci.
That’s why she’s one of roughly 300 vendors out here at Localtopia in St. Petersburg today.
It’s a chance for local businesses and the community to come together, support each other, and promote their passions.
For Luci, it’s to do more of what makes you happy.
“It’s not even that much about making a sale, but more about getting this message out,” said Westphal. “St. Pete makes us happier and St. Pete is our happier place.”
And that’s not hard to find in an incredible community like ours.
