John Robert “John Bob” Wise, 77, of Treasure Island, Florida, formerly of Greenfield, Ohio, passed away Monday, June 6, 2022.
He was born March 23, 1945, in Greenfield, Ohio, the son of John Howard and Betty (Leach) Wise.
John Bob was a 1963 graduate of Edward Lee McClain High School and member of FOE 1325. He was an avid bicyclist riding many miles between Treasure Island and Clearwater in Florida. He retired from Community Markets (formerly Uhl’s IGA) of Greenfield after 52 years as a meat cutter and later was employed part-time at Publix in Florida.
He is survived by his one son, Scott (Julia) Wise of Greenfield; one stepdaughter, Debbie Jenkins of Hillsboro; seven grandchildren, Ashton (Travis) Turk, Logan Wise, Lucas (Alex) Perie, Jenna Perie (Caleb Cooper), Sydney Wise (Cayla Templeton), Jacob Perie (Jhaela Coleman) and Zach Perie; one stepgrandson, Tyler Vance; one great-grandson, Grayson; one brother, Gary (Ann) Wise of Findlay; two nieces, Laura and Lelia; special family, Cheryl Wise and Abby Atkinson; and special friends, Sandy Mitchell, David Jones, Dick Easter and Mike Hall.
He was preceded in death by both parents.
Memorial service will be 6 p.m. Thursday, July 14 at Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with casual dress requested. Pastor Jeff Barnhart will officiate.
Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
