ST. PETERSBURG, FL — The victim who was killed Friday night inside a room at the Landmark Hotel in St. Petersburg has been identified as Benjamin Goff, St. Pete police said.
His body was found inside a second-floor room shortly after 5 p.m.

A man was killed at The Landmark Hotel across from Sunken Gardens Friday evening, St. Pete police said.

Authorities said the man was shot at about 5 p.m. A gun was found at the shooting location, 1930 Fourth Street North, St. Petersburg.
Officers will be investigating for several hours throughout the night. During the homicide investigation, 20th Avenue North is closed from Fourth Street North to Fifth Street North. Fourth Street North is completely open.

Detectives said they will release the man’s name after his next of kin has been notified.
