ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Police are investigating after antisemitic flyers were distributed in St. Petersburg.
The flyers were found Tuesday at homes near 5th Avenue North and 3rd Street North, and at 1031 7th St. N., Yolanda Fernandez, community awareness division manager for the St. Petersburg Police Department, told Patch. Flyers were also found along the sidewalks and roads in those areas.
Officers collected the flyers and are investigating. Anyone with information is asked to call St. Petersburg police at 727-893-7780 or text SPPD and the tip to TIP411.

The Florida Holocaust Museum in St. Petersburg condemned the flyers in a Facebook post.
“In yet another disgusting addition to 2022’s list of antisemitic incidents in the Tampa Bay Area, more antisemitic flyers were distributed to St. Petersburg residents,” the museum wrote in a post. “These flyers emphasize white supremacist and Nazi symbols while advocating for Replacement Theory, a racist lie responsible for inspiring mass shootings in America and abroad.”

The museum’s chair, Mike Igel, also commented on the flyers.
“The disturbing trend of antisemitism being delivered to our doors continues. No resident of St. Pete or anywhere else deserves this, and our hearts go out to those who received these repugnant flyers. While it’s exhausting and enraging to confront this hate time after time, it is fundamentally necessary for our entire community to do so with a united voice,” he said. “Flyers like these are intended to intimidate and isolate Jews and their allies, but they will always fail. Everyone who publicly repudiates the messages they contain moves us closer to a world where no one gives regard to such hateful lies and people of all faiths and backgrounds can live in peace.”
He encouraged people to “do something” in response to the antisemitic flyers, including visiting the museum and calling local legislators to request more funding for Holocaust education.
“If you’re a student or parent, tell your teachers you want our materials in every classroom,” Igel added. “Moreover, if you have any information related to the flyers or those who distribute them, please notify law enforcement.”
