April 2, 1924 – Nov. 17, 2021 Patricia Y Fairfield, 97, of South Pasadena died November 17, 2021. She was born in South Pasadena, California, April 2nd, 1924 of Japanese immigrants. She graduated South Pasadena High School and received her nursing credential from St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. She was married to Anthony Fairfield who preceded her in death in 2016. Patricia was a Registered Nurse and was the head nurse for the neurosurgical unit at Huntington Memorial Hospital in the 1950s. She also worked for JPL and later Parsons in Pasadena until her retirement in 1989. She had a passion for the natural world and dedicated 35 years to Eaton Canyon Nature Center. She loved books, crossword puzzles, sewing and gardening. She is survived by her daughter, Audrey and son-in-law, William Barry. Grand children, Christopher Barry and James Barry and Great Grand children, Austin Barry, Dale Barry and Sean Barry. No memorial service is planned. In liue of flowers please consider a contribution to Eaton Canyon Nature Center in her memory.
