Once Elsa passes Southwest Florida, it could spin into a hurricane off the coast of the Tampa Bay area, but that didn’t stop people from enjoying the beach Tuesday.
“This is our first time, you know. We know snow, we know all the things, but never a storm,” said Marisol Solis, who was visiting St. Pete Beach Tuesday from Wisconsin.
“Doesn’t bother us. We are used to tornadoes and those kind of things so it’s like whatever,” said Michael Henry of Indiana.
Hurricane and Storm Surge Warnings are in effect for the Tampa Bay area, and all bridges from Dunedin to St. Pete Beach will have restricted access until Wednesday morning.
