GULFPORT, FL — An armed man surrendered peacefully to following a five-hour standoff with authorities on Friday.
The Gulfport Police Department were called to 1208 55th St. S. for a report a man firing a gun into the resident. When they arrived, Kyle South, 34, has barricaded himself inside the home and refused to come out.
Police called in the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Negotiator Response and Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) teams who negotiated with South for five hours before he agreed to come out.

Gulfport detectives charged him with shooting into an occupied dwelling.
The victim was not injured.
