PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. — St. Pete Fire Rescue crews responded to a 3-alarm restaurant fire Friday morning.
Crews arrived at the Tsunami Japanese Restaurant at 2176 Tyrone Blvd around 6:15 a.m. to find smoke pouring from the building.
Firefighters worked inside to find fire and extinguish along with searching the entire building.
There were no injuries. The structure’s roof was heavily damaged.
Crews were unable to access areas of the remaining fire. Crews backed out of the building for the safety of the crews and changed firefighting tactics to defensive.
Tyrone Blvd. was closed in that area near 66th Street and 22nd Ave North for several hours. The roadway reopened at 12:30 p.m.
